Training for better days & a stronger bond with your dog

Dog training in Boston

Force-free training for sensitive, overwhelmed, and reactive dogs. No pain-based tools. Just clear, science-backed coaching that works in real life.

You don’t need harsher tools. You need a better plan.

Pain-based tools and dominance advice might look like quick control — but create more stress underneath, without solving the actual problem. We focus on trust and feeling safe, so your dog can actually learn.

Science based

Built on modern learning science — not dominance myths or outdated methods. Just science based.

Trust First

We only use methods that protect your relationship, deepen your bond and fixes problems from within.

Real-Life Practical

Clear, actionable steps and skills that hold up on walks, at home, and around distractions.

Humane methods only — no shock collars, prong collars, or “alpha” tactics.

Good dogs aren't born, they're understood

I’ve seen how quickly things can change when we swap pressure for clarity — and when dogs are helped instead of handled.

Using methods that protect trust, confidence, and your relationship, we can help your dog feeling safe in the world. My approach is force-free and grounded in modern science based knowledge. No quick fixes, but positive reinforcement and progress you can actually feel (tail wags included).

Let's help your dog navigate the world confidently

Pain-based tools and dominance advice might look like quick control — but create more stress underneath, without solving the actual problem. We focus on trust and feeling safe, so your dog can actually learn.

Basic Foundations

Start strong with predictable routines, recalls, leash basics, and confidence-building socialization.

Rescue Dog Reset

For newly adopted dogs who are decompressing, adjusting, or bringing some baggage with them. We’ll build safety, routines, and trust from day one.

Behavior Support

Barking, lunging, pulling, jumping, chaos at the door — we’ll look at what’s driving it and build practical skills that hold up in real life.

Kind words from owners:

  • "We adopted a sweet dog with a lot of fear. I was worried we’d be told to use something harsh. Instead, we got support that felt safe for him and for us — and we’re seeing real change without breaking trust."

    Ruby & Ollie

  • "We didn’t just teach cues — we built routines. The sessions were practical, the homework doable, and explained in a way that made sense. Our puppy is learning fast, and our house is a safe place for everyone."

    Lara & Lilly

  • "After one week, stress levels noticeably decreased. The biggest difference wasn’t me having to take ‘control’, but listening to what my dog was trying to tell me. I finally understand what she struggles with and how to help her overcome it."

Meet your trainer

Hey, I'm Anna and I'm going to help you say good boy more than you thought possible

My work focuses on practical training that protects your relationship with your dog, while solving the behaviors that make daily life harder. No harsh tools. No dominance myths. Just clear, science-based guidance that works in real life.

How my story of working with dogs began

Like many trainers in this field, I didn’t start here because everything with my own dog was easy. I started here because I realized how much traditional training advice ignores what dogs are actually experiencing.

Tools that promise quick control. Dominance theories that frame behavior as a power struggle. Training that focuses on stopping behavior instead of understanding it. But dogs aren’t trying to win anything. They’re responding to their environment, their past experiences, and what they’ve learned so far.

Once you start looking at behavior that way, the path forward becomes much clearer. That realization is what led me to this work: helping people build better lives with their dogs without relying on force or fear.

Kind words from owners:

  • "We adopted a sweet dog with a lot of fear. I was worried we’d be told to use something harsh. Instead, we got support that felt safe for him and for us — and we’re seeing real change without breaking trust."

A better way to train your dog

My work is guided by a few core principles. My approach may not promise overnight transformation, but it leads to change that actually lasts and makes your bond stronger.

Behavior is communication

Dogs aren’t trying to be difficult. Behavior tells us something about what they’re experiencing.

Learning happens when dogs feel safe

When pressure and fear are removed, dogs can process new information and develop skills.

Progress takes clarity and consistency

Small changes done well and consistently over time create lasting results.

Training that instills trust, not fear

What I focus on:

✔︎ Reducing stress instead of suppressing behavior

✔︎ Strengthening the bond between dog and owner

✔︎ Progress that respects your dog’s pace

What I don’t do:

Pain-based leash corrections (like shock or prong collars)

Dominance, leadership, balanced, or “alpha” training

Forcing dogs beyond what they can handle

Training should make life better, for both ends of the leash

1-on-1 training

Less stress, more connection

Most trainers focus on stopping behaviour. We focus on the why behind it. When your dog feels understood, not just corrected, things start to shift. Fewer outbursts. Less anxiety. A dog who actually wants to work with you.

Does any of this feel familiar?

walks feel stressful or unpredictable

your dog barks, lunges, or reacts strongly to other dogs or people

guests arriving at your home creates chaos

your dog seems overwhelmed or easily triggered

you’ve tried advice online but nothing seems to stick

It doesn’t have to stay this way

You've probably already tried things. Different approaches, different trainers, different advice from the internet. And still, walks feel like a gamble and home feels like a juggling act.

That doesn't mean your dog is a lost cause. It means nobody has looked closely enough at your dog yet. What they're feeling, what they're reacting to, and what they actually need to feel safe.

That's where we start. Not with rules and corrections, but with understanding. And from there, things tend to shift faster than you'd expect.

From chaos to confidence, step by step

Every dog is different, so training always starts with understanding what’s driving the behavior. From there, we focus on building the skills your dog needs to navigate the world more comfortably

Together we'll work on:

calmer responses to triggers on walks

loose leash walking and better communication

building focus and engagement around distractions

helping your dog make better choices in everyday situations

reducing stress in challenging environments

strengthening your bond and trust in each other

Clear steps, steady progress

Training doesn’t need to feel overwhelming. We’ll take things step by step.

Initial session

We’ll talk through what’s happening with your dog, look at triggers and patterns, and build a clear plan for moving forward.

You’ll learn practical exercises that help your dog develop new behaviors and coping strategies.

Lana & Peggy

Is this the right fit for you and your dog?

This is for you if you:

✔︎‍ want science-based, force-free training

✔︎‍ care about protecting your relationship with your dog

✔︎‍ guests arriving at your home creates chaos

✔︎‍ your dog seems overwhelmed or easily triggered

✔︎‍ you’ve tried advice online but nothing seems to stick

This is not for you if you:

you're looking for quick fixes or strict obedience

you want your dog to comply, not to understand

you prefer a structured program without much back-and-forth

you're not open to adjusting your own approach

you're looking for the cheapest option available

Answers to your questions

  • Probably wasn't your dog's fault. Force-free training builds real understanding, not just short-term compliance.

  • Some dogs shift in the first session. Most owners notice a real difference within 2–4 weeks — as long as you practice in between.

  • More sessions, more support, longer aftercare. The bigger the package, the more runway you have to build something that actually sticks.

  • Never. We only use positive reinforcement — rewards, not fear.

  • Yes — reactive dogs are a specialty. Force-free methods work with their emotions instead of suppressing them.

  • High-value treats (think chicken, not kibble) and a flat collar or harness. That's it.

5 training myths that keep dogs stressed

A short, science-backed mindset reset that replaces dominance advice with what actually helps — so you can move forward without fear or force.

What you’ll learn:

✔︎‍ ‍Why most dogs aren't "stubborn" — and what's really going on

✔︎‍ ‍The one thing punishment-based training actually teaches your dog

✔︎‍ ‍Why your dog behaves perfectly at home but falls apart outside

✔︎‍ ‍What stress signals look like, and why missing them makes things worse

✔︎‍ ‍How to set your dog up to succeed instead of correcting them

What others are saying about this guide:

"I downloaded this thinking it was just another dog tip list. It wasn't. Myth #3 completely changed how I respond when my dog reacts on the leash."

Sarah with Daisy

“Short, honest, and actually useful. I sent it to three friends who are struggling with the same things I was.”

Jenna with Casey

“I've read a lot about dog training. This is the first thing that made me feel less guilty and more capable.”

Rachel with Spike

Hey, I’m Anna

I'm a force-free dog trainer and behaviour consultant, and I created this guide because I kept seeing the same thing: well-meaning owners doing everything "right" — and still struggling.

Most of what's out there is outdated, oversimplified, or just plain wrong. This guide cuts through the noise and focuses on what the science actually says.

No dominance theory. No quick fixes. Just a clearer picture of what's going on with your dog — and what you can do about it.
